While demand for the Fujifilm FinePix X100 has been outstripping supply for months now, these shortages have also extended to Fuji's line of official accessories. The well reviewed official Fujifilm LC-X100 leather case has been notably difficult to get ahold of, with aftermarket sale prices reaching upwards to $250+ USD. This has left the market wide open to a number of alternatives, from high end handmade leather half-cases to simple knock-off imitations. Last week a slew of imitation LC-X100 synthetic leather cases showed up on eBay from Chinese sellers, offering the same style and functionality of the official case at nearly 1/10th the cost. For Fuji X100 users looking for a simple case to protect their camera without breaking the bank, these cases are an attractive low-cost option.



I decided to purchase two of these cases, in both black and brown, to put them through their paces and see how they held up. The cases arrived from China on June 10th after 7 days in transit, just in time for my weekend trip - the perfect time to test it out for a review!

Today Apple released Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.7 which adds RAW file support for the Fujifilm FinePix X100 to Aperture and iPhoto software. It additionally adds thumbnail preview support when viewing .RAF files in Finder.

The update is 6.62 MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later. Run Software Update on your system or download the update directly.
