Movie Mode and Exposure Compensation

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with exposure compensation dial in movie mode. The manual says "Before recording, adjust aperture, white balance, film simulation, and exposure compensation". However, I do not notice any difference between -2 or +2 settings as the camera automatically adjusts exposure throughout duration of video. Not really a big deal to me, but I'm just wondering if the exposure compensation knob really does anything?Happy Fuji X100 Owner :)
