Just Pickup my X Pro1 (first batch of test shots)
  • The photos are for testing the camera's performance especially in low light condition. Shots are taken with aperture priority or program, auto while balance and I only use ISO 1600 instead of going for higher for the night shots. I would say the performance in term of noise is very satisfactory. Due to a sudden snow I got to test its performance at -6C as well.

After finally having some hand on experience on the new camera, I did find a few small issues that bother me.

1/ the battery cover open on the SD card side, and when you eject the SD card it can be difficult to pick it up if you have big fingers.

2/ the power switch does not lock securely, and when I wear a glove I sometimes touch it and turn the camera off by accident

3/ in my first post, I mention the lens release is too close to the lens mount, and during this shot in snow, wearing a glove make it almost impossible to change lens

4/ the "Q" menu access button is easily touched by accident with your thumb. When the menu pop up and you loss the viewfinder for composition. I am sure once I get used to it I can avoid this, but what if they put it at a better spot next time?

    Pros:

1/ The good thing is the retro analog switches on exposure compensation is a real charm, no more going through layer of menu to access it and cancel it. Love it.

2/ Stealth mode take you back to the old Leica street photography days when you can wear the camera and press the shutter without even lifting it up to your eye. Got a few nice shots but they are in RAW and I have not get a chance to work on the post processing. Apple, please hurry up to support this in Aperture.
