Kipon NIK F-FX adaptor stuck on lens

Got my Kipon adaptor for Nikon today and now have it stuck firmly on my 50mm f/1.4. The release button seems to be solid, with no movement, and I am unable to press it in sufficiently to release the adaptor from the lens. Anyone else had this experience? Any tips?

Update: By dint of excessive force I've dislodged it and retrieved my Nikkor lens unscathed. But it seems a bit unsatisfactory that this should happen and I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem. At least it is better to have it stuck on the lens than on the camera!

You don't have to push the button in, but slide it backwards towards the camera body to release the lens. I admit, it doesn't seem all that obvious.

It's obvious when you mention it! Yes, of course, you are right. My brute force yesterday probable caused the button to move towards the body. I had suspected sideways movement but had tried to move the button left or right, never towards the camera body. As you say, this isn't at all obvious and the box comes with no instructions (not that I would have read them anyway.....). I have noticed several other people have had this problem (simple Google search on the subject) so this thread could be useful. Thanks for putting me out of my misery.

For all Nikon F mount lenses EXCEPT G-types and DX lenses: the basic Kippon adapter

For all Nikon F mount lenses INCLUDING G-types and DX lenses: the Kippon adapter with its own aperture control ring

Or wait a couple of weeks for the Novaflex adaptor to be available - more expensive for sure at £150 but I would expect the quality to be superb...

Either adapter will work -- the basic should be fine, but the G version will allow you to use it with newer lenses.

Have you actually used the G version? I am assuming, perhaps wrongly, that it is similar to the adapter with aperture for use with Canon EOS lenses and having tried that I found it almost useless other than at full aperture.

I have both. The G version really does leave you guessing as far as aperture when used on a G lens, but I think the D lenses will stop down appropriately with the aperture control ring set to its full extent.
