I recieved my Gariz case and have posted a few pics with explanations to help you decide if you like or don't like this as an option for you camera.

This what the case comes in...inside a pouch and a box with Gariz logo.

This is the bottom metal plate with the access to the battery and SD card. There is a thread for attaching to the tripod. When you open the battery slot, it does it with ease without scraping to the metal part of the case.

The metal loop you see I pulled out on purpose for you to notice. This is what you use to screw the camera to the case. This loop is also used to attach the clip of the leather strap (which is on its way from Korea) for easy access to take pics, they call it shotgun mode on their site I believe.

Here is another look at the inside of the case which is composed of a velvet cloth type material to protect the camera which I personally love as added protection.

Here are the pics of the camera on the case, all buttons are accessable including the focus buttons.

In all I think this is a well built camera case with added features that other more expensive cases may lack. The leather feels smooth and the velvet interior will prevent damage as well. The thing I look forward to the most is when the leather begins to wear, there I truly believe is when it will look much better. Do i recommend this, yes.

Love the details and thought that went into the design of this case. Do they make a full case?

I have the Gariz leather strap thhat goes with this case. Gariz shipped it seperately, and that leather strap come with the clip as well, but i plan using the arnuvo strap as an every day strap and the Gariz when traveling.

Great review @Photorx12, thanks for sharing! Are the sides of the case pliable, or rigid with some reinforcement?

No, the are not pliable, but still seem to look sturdy and from the quality of the product, i don't expect any issues.

  • just got this case, love it. But one question, on the side where you plug in the usb cable, do I have to take off the case to access this every time? The slit is too small for the door to open.
  • Why would you want to use the usb, except for firmware upgrades? A card reader would always be faster and w the Gariz case you have access to the SD card...right?
  • oh, forgot about taking the sd card out. thanks for the obvious :)
  • This case looks great, really high quality compared to some of the other half cases I've seen for the X100. Is the red strap in the last photo Artisan and Artist?

You might want to check out a cheaper alternative that is called HorusBennu. Can be found on ebay.
