I have a Fuji Xpro 1 with all three available lenses. In addition I have a Lunix GH 2 with a 28-280 zoom, 14-28 ultra wide zoom, 200-600 zoom as well as a fish eye. I would most definitely take with my Xpro 1 system due to the wonderful results I get however I am wondering if I should take any of the Lumix system which I have used on many and had great results. I love to photograph people, surroundings, and landscapes. The trip will be 80 per cent in northern India. I have a Domke Photo vest, a Billingham L2 bag and a Domke R2 ruggedwwear bag. Your comments on what to take would be appreciated.

    XP1 + 35mm, that's all what's needed ;-)

If you really like doing nice landscape the 18mm (or 14mm if it's out already) but travelling with only that, you feel free, you may miss one thing or two which is really far away once in a while... but you keep on travelling and not "moving around with bunch of gears". I go 3 weeks in australia same period only with the 35mm only I don't even take my photobag with me.

My two cents. (and I'm not a professional or anything ;-))

  • I would just take the X-Pro1 and the 35mm as well as the 18mm for landscape.
If the 18-55 is available by then I would take this and the 35mm. That is all you really need.
On my last trip to New York I just had my X-Pro1 and the 35mm with me and I did not miss anything at all.

On other trips I just had my X100 with and never had the feeling that I was missing out on anything.
Rather travel with less and enjoy the travel rather than lugging around a huge camera bag and lots of gear.
You will never know which camera with which lens to use and will always be wondering if your choice was right for that picture.

    I hope I could help a little.
