Kipon Adaptor for Nikon G-FX stuck

My Kipon adapter arrived this morning. Hurrah! So I attached my Nikon 50mm f1.8 AF-D lens, took a few pics. Thought I would try another lens. BUT cannot remove the lens from the adaptor!!!

Didn't think this was meant to be difficult. There is a single silver button on the adaptor, which is clearly the release button, except it is impossible to depress. There is a microscopic rotational movement between the adaptor and the lens, and attempting to wiggle the lens had no effect. I have also tried the aperture at every setting, the adaptor's aperture ring at every position and focusing the lens in-out in case that would release something. All to no avail.

There is no other mechanical problem. Both focus and aperture work perfectly and unhindered, and the lens is correctly seated on the adaptor, just can't be removed.

Of course I had written immediately to the supplier, but I wondered if anyone else had any issues or even better, a solution?

I got a very fast and helpful response from the maker:

I was trying to push down on the button (towards the axis of the lens), but after your message I tried to pull the button toward to camera body, which of course did successfully release the lens. So all is well.

Great product and well supported. Highly recommended!

Phew...for a moment there I thought you would have a permanent 50mm X mount lens.
