Funny that you suggest that, Christopher. I've been scanning eBay for a Canonet QL17 GIII. That was my first camera in high school. I don't know that I'd actually do it, but I think the X10/X20 is satisfying some sort of photographic mid-life crisis :)

With today FOREX, X100s is $1,400 before discount.

@ryanVargas I am sure that it is possible to change language in the camera. My Japanese X-E1 could be changed without any problem. Though documents in the box will be in Japanese.

Scan the camera in your computer then get google to translate from Japanese.

Seriously , When you set up the camera surely there is a language option in all the models.

I have no paid sales tax, NOT ONE DIME, on ANY photographic purchase since 1994 or so.

Amazon.com, Adorama, or B & H, all TAX FREE.

Not in all States. For example in the State of California, you'll have to file use tax (same amount as the sales tax) for articles purchased tax free in the internet.

No they are normally a couple of months behind unless you get from grey market.

Yes I was using the D7000 as a carry round camera in a low pro bag. Clunky and big for sure.

Then I got the X10 and used it far more. The fact you were a photographer in fashion and are now excited about the X100s says a lot.

I agree. I sell fine art prints and use my Nikon for this but I love the old world simple beauty of the X series and it certainly has put the fun back into photography for me.

Not me not yet. I am sticking with XE1 and x10 and might get the upgrade to the 100s or wait for price to drop.

Well I disagree with that and would have thought you felt the same as you chose your X100 over your other gear to take photos in the street which you posted on this site.

Yes it is one of the most target rich areas in the world but out on the streets it can be pretty gruelling . I have been robbed while driving a motor bike twice unfortunetely for the thief he cut him self on my bike and the police caught him by following the blood on the road.

So anyway while I have not been robbed of a camera yet it is a bit dicy. So being on edge is not fun for starters . Recently a tourist was relieved of a great deal of camera stuff on these Phnom Penh streets. So it is more fun to have a small less snatch worthy camera .

Every one has their own sense of fun. You can not say it is inexplicable for me to say that a small fixed lens camera is more fun for me than a big SLR. It is not even an original statement . How many other photographers have down scaled from SLR to X100 and say it has put the fun back into their photography?

It is fun for me to have a small retro camera on the streets and if I do not have a choice of lenses I have more fun in the back to basics of framing and composing and changing aperture on the lens .

It is fun to pretend I am HCB 2013.

As for fun in Cambodia yes incredible subject matter for sure.
