Learning to take Street Photography......
  • I purchased the X100 used a month ago and love this camera! I commute into NYC everyday and have been carrying it with me to learn Street Photography style of shooting. I'm still getting used to getting up close to people with the camera, but thankfully the X100's shutter is almost silent!

Here is a shot I took yesterday while waiting for the train home at the 125th Street Metro-North station.

    Nice!

Great tones and the guy in the blue seemingly spotting you is a nice touch.
You considered this in b/w (I know its cliche but Im making all my streets bw. colour doesn't feel right - though I'm trying a vintage film effect I made with FlareApp but Ive not used it properly)
The X100 has reignited my delight in photography and especially street photography which is my new found photo love =D

  • Really nice work! I'm in love with street photography, though really not very good at it yet. Many, many times I'll think I've gotten the shots I want, only to find when I upload the photos that I should have been much closer. It is hard even with a camera as discreet as the X100!

Harold if you are interested in exploring street photography if you haven't already done so you should jump onto Thomas Leuthard's website and download his two free e-books "Going Candid" and "Collecting Souls"
