Do you have the X10 & X10 Hood?

If yes, where does the Fujifilm logo on the hood line up when it is on your camera? From pictures at B & H, I thought the logo would line up on top, at the 12 o'clock position. Of course, that makes sense, as the logo will have the most visibility there. With my hood on my X10, it lines up at the bottom, except not centered, more like the 8pm position on clock. Looks utterly stupid that way. Really stupid.

Is this normal or have I had another case of "good" luck with my X10?

And a freezer full of Fuji Neopan Acros and 400H film.

I bought it for the filter adapter.

I have a filter and hood on every camera and lens I own, because I learned long ago of their value both as protection and in keeping light off the front element. In the case of the X10, I have the Marumi filter and a nice JJC hood, in that I've never seen a company logo make a picture more or less good. As to how it lines up -- take a Sharpie and black out the logo. Then you won't have people wondering why you paid three times as much as you needed to pay for a lens accessory.

I'm not going to use the hood as I never, ever, ever, use lens hoods. I'm just curious as to how the logo lines up because it looks positively stupid on my X10. I can't believe this is how it was designed to be.

I bought the one from Amazon for $18. The hood, and not the lens, has taken one impact so far.

So your question is, what, exactly? Whether the labeling lines up on something you are not going to use anyway? In the entire history of photography this has to be the ultimate example of camera as fashion accessory instead of photographic device -- Nikon lens hoods do not especially line up, nor do Leica hoods, nor do any other maker's. The reason for this is that it doesn't matter a whit. Your apparently strongly felt opposition to lens hoods in general means that you are not the sort of photographer for whom lens hoods are offered, wouldn't you agree? Worry about orientation of the logo on the outside of a hood betrays a pretty fundamental lack of knowledge about hoods and particularly of the fact that their purpose is not as decoration.

i have bought my hood from an authorized dealer and the fujifilm logo is position at 7 (almost 8). At first it really bothered me coz the position of the text looked really awkward.. but i didnt mind that much coz the only reason im buying this hood is for the lens filter as well and using the dslr lens cover...i guess the fujifilm guys missed this small detail :(
all i got is just one shot and the rest is history!

Read my post. I wrote quite clearly what I was looking for. Hopefully you'll get it second time around.

I understand and understood entirely. You're interested in how it looks rather than whether it works.

You are incorrect. I will not use the hood so looks are an after thought with me. I am interested in the design of the lens hood. Purely a curiosity of mine.
