I wonder if this firmware update addresses the AF issues that people have been facing as discussed in another thread for XT2. The relevant item in the update is below:

  • The phenomenon is fixed that in the AF-S mode, repeated halfway shutter pressing can shift the focus point with SHUTTER AF setting OFF.

It was reported as being included by Fujirumours yet not listed in the actual update. I've a feeling it may have been withdrawn at last minute for refining as has happened before.

SHUTTER AF setting OFF...

Who uses this function?

Isn't that what you set if you're a back button AF user - as most appear to be these days? Handy for focus recompose (I prefer to move the focus point with joystick) and for what passes as follow focus on Fuji cameras to keep a moving subject in focus (CF mode) and dab the shutter (CH or CL) to take one or two exposures as wanted.

Basically it divorces the AF from the shutter button leaving it to control AE and taking the picture only. You obviously need to setup the AF and AE buttons to your liking also.

Setup and use of this back button focus feature was a lot easier on my Nikons.

For 3 of my X bodies, XP1, XT1, XT2 I bought genuine Fuji handgrips. They are very light and compact yet provide an excellent grip. I bought a cheap one for my XE1 and luckily it fits both the camera and my hand quite well. It is double the weight of Fujis though. Having recently bought a bargain XT20 but quickly realised I needed a handgrip because it is 1cm less wide than the XE series so I ordered a cheap model. A picture of it is shown and as you can see there is not enough space to get my fingers between the grip and the lens so I have to splay my fingers apart especially with 23mm f1.4 or larger lens - 90mm, 55-200mm etc. I found a reduced price OEM grip and got that. Pictures show XT20 with no grip, with cheap grip and with Fuji grip. (Note that the gap is actually wider with the Fuji grip than without it.)  Sometimes cheap is expensive.
