TravelingP
Hi Everyone, I just got my X-T2 yesterday and I was enjoying it mightily, messing with the settings, when suddenly the Shutter Button just stopped taking photos. Everything else seems to be working fine. The battery is charged and the screens are working well. But when I hit the shutter button, nothing. Can anyone assist me in troubleshooting? I'm in DC to take pics of all the activities, and I'm dying with this $2,000 black brick in my hands!
morpheme
There are a number of things that this could be... try taking the lens off and reseating it. If the camera thinks there is no lens mounted (and it's not set to "shoot without lens") it won't fire but this is only the first thing that comes to mind.. you could also take the battery out or reset all the settings to default and see what happens

Bobbie
Hello, Found this thread from searching for that exact problem of being able to shoot photo but not video. It turns out I can shoot FHD, just not DCI or 4K. Check on yours if you can do this. Then it might be related to... hmm, the SD card perhaps? It might detect it might not catch up the writes? Haven't tried with my faster SD cards yet. Play with the settings a bit and report back, please :) Cheers
Alessandro
Hello, I have an XT 20 and I just got a new lens the Meike 28mm F/2.8. With the kit lens all good now with this new one it doesn't shoot. I've already tried to remove the lens, the sd card, the battery but still the same. What can I do? Thank you
Arsalan
My XT-4 has the same problem after trying to use it as webcam! the shutter button does not work in video mode! (works fine in photo mode) but when it’s connected with hdmi cable to my mac the shutter works on video too!
SuzeW
I recently had this problem when I attached a third party lens to my new X-T4 and found that I needed to change the setting “Shoot without lens” to “On” in the Tools menu (wrench icon) under “Button/Dial Setting”. Then the shutter will fire. You also need to set up third party lenses individually in the “Mount Adapter” settings to collect accurate data about the lens you are using if it is not a Fuji lens.
