AF no longer working (sort of) on my X-10

Recommended Posts

Recently, autofocus stopped working on my X-10. It does not matter which position I choose on the MF/AF-C/AF-S switch. A half-press on the shutter release does nothing to activate AF. The one exception is that I can press the AEL/AFL button on the back. This engages the AF and brings the lens into focus. I have gone through all the menus (I think), and even resorted to setting the camera back to factory defaults. All to no avail. I'm assuming that something is actually broken, but wanted to check here first.

Thanks for any help,

David

Can you use that button to autofocus in all three switch modes?

Does the display indicate the focus-mode selected MF/AF-C/AF-S switch? It sound a bit like it is stuck in MF mode...

@sweeze - Yes, does not matter what position the switch is in.

@Dennis - The display always indicates "M" for manual focus mode.
