RAF file format problems in Lightroom

Recommended Posts

tbartel

I just spent my first day shooting with my new X30. When I tried to import my RAW files into Lightroom, it said the RAF file format was not supported. I downloaded Adobe Camera Raw DNG converter, and that doesn't work either. Can you tell me how you get around this? Thanks.

Make sure that your copy of Adobe Camera Raw is up to date. You will need the latest version to recognise X30 files.

Same thing with the DNG converter program. You will need the latest version.

Download Faststone viewer (freeware) which seems to stay up to date. You can view full size and open the files from there into your preferred editing software (add it to the list of editors) but of course that software still needs to be up to date. Current LR5.5 is required for XT1 files so I think you need that for X30 RAFs too.

You need ACR 8.7 RC or DNG converter 8.7RC to recognize the X30 files.

ACR acts independently of Lightroom and Photoshop CC.
