Posting an image hosted on Google+

Recommended Posts

K1W1_Mk2

To post an image that is hosted on G+ open the image in your Photos section of G+, right click on the actual image and select the "copy the image URL" or similar option then open the image icon in a new post and paste the URL that you copied into the box. Ignore the second box that pops up talking about alternate text. The forum software will insert the correct HTML tags.

Oner trap is that the image posted here with this version of the forum software will be the same size as the image up;loaded to G+ so it tends to screw up the formatting until the new site is active.

If anybody wants feel free to experiment in this thread.

The image below was uploaded to G+ in 640x480 dimensions.

As for the trap with image sizes. Google+ appear to give different URL (with embedded sizing parameters) depeing on the size of you browser window. The below image was uploaded in standard Google+ resolution (2048x1365 pixels) and when posted here scaled by the forum to fit the layout. Two examples

URL taken from a maximized browser - 1304x869 pixels:

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qdaIs0bzsjc/VVu0J5qNh9I/AAAAAAAAEHg/riTgmp72WOM/w1304-h869-no/DSCF1262.JPG

URL taken from a windowed browser - 839x559 pixels:

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qdaIs0bzsjc/VVu0J5qNh9I/AAAAAAAAEHg/riTgmp72WOM/w839-h559-no/DSCF1262.JPG

As you can see, you can on your own tweak these sizing parameter - e.g. the part with w839-h559 in the last URL.

The image itself:
