RAF Conversion in LR6

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I am new to shooting with my XE2 and am just a little confused after processing my first file through LR6. The RAF file i shot is 33.8mb and the jpeg paired with (RAW+F) it is 6mb. After processing the RAF file in LR and exporting to my hard drive (it seemed to only let me export a jpeg) the file is 1.6mb. Is this normal? After using a canon system for some time I am kind of baffled by this. Thanks

First thing to check is the JPG export setting for Lightroom.

There are a lot of reasons for different file sizes from the same image, mostly surrounding JPG quality/compression settings.

Oh god. I am a moron. I didn't realize I could scroll down on that screen. I was unable to understand how jpeg could be the only file type I could export from LR...the joys of using a new computer program. Any recommendations on settings specific for printing to save as a user preset?
