I like the picture - great composition.  Looks a little overexposed or is that purposeful?  I also see purple fringing in the top leaves?  Is that from the camera sensor or lens do you think?

Great job though!  Makes me want to visit.   Just wanted to say that I really like the soft blur of the waterfall.  For me it is just the right amount.  Too often the blur looks unrealistic - too soft.  In this case, you nailed it buddy!  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comments.

I deliberately wanted the slightly over exposed look I thought it suited how I wanted the scene represented. As to the fringing I'm not going to do anything with the photo other than put it online and forget it so I didn't spend more than a couple of minutes playing with the editing. If I was going to try to sell prints that would be a different matter I guess.

K1W1_Mk2, this looks indeed a very photogenic location. I hope you can visit it often. In such case, it would be nice if you could make and share some more pictures, maybe from other points of view and/or changing the exposure settings (e.g. as to blur the streams of water).

A quick comment from living in the same location as K1W1: it is really difficult in Australia, even in winter, due to the hard light we have and the big exposure difference between the sky and foreground in photos. This is every evident when one is shooting under a tree canopy. This one was taken just north of Port Douglas in far north Queensland at the Mossman Gorge.036 smaller.jpg

Shaking things up a bit and stitching images one on top of the other rather than making a panorama , but seriously I kept framing and reframing and not getting exactly what I wanted and it took some time for it to occur to me that it's just as easy to stitch two images into a squarish image as it is to make a pano.
