A swimming club contacted me to photograph a competition for children. "Do something that is different from traditional sports photography" was their wish. So . . . then I had to take with me the best camera I have (Fujifilm X-T1) and only one lens (XF 35mm) :)

Captured with an XE1 - coupled with a 35 mm prime lens - this image depicts participants in the Diwali (light) Hindu festival at a temple on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. The fast 1.4 lens enabled the ISO to be kept to 1600 with the camera hand held. The resultant image displayed some vibrant chiaroscuro in both foreground and background - assisted by the partly obscured ambient light sources between the close and distant figures.
