As part of the fire day, the young people had the opportunity to enter a smoke-filled 'house' used by the fire crews for training.  The smoke was entirely safe but the effect of near blindness and disorientation is the same as the young people are ed into the house, looking for a way out again!

Matthew Alston was a young man from lancashire who was tragically killed in a road accident in 2010.  He was a young man with his whole life ahead of him and one day he left home in his car and didn't return.  Since then, with his parents permission, the vehicle he was driving when he was killed has been displayed without any alteration, to young people across Lancashire to hopefully serve as a warning of the dangers of driving too fast or dangerously in any way.  Every time I have observed young people looking over this car there has always been an audible silence... the wreckage speaks louder than any words...
