  1. The Dear Susan website has published another article I have written about fallow periods and struggling for inspiration. The article includes architectural photographs taken in Singapore, where I talk about looking for and finding inspiration in unexpected subjects. Dear Susan : The Powers of Darkness The photos were not taken with Fuji cameras, although other Dear Susan contributors own and write about Fuji's X system.

    New UTC Library

Some architectural tests of the new library at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I'll be replacing this shot next week as there are students on campus now - not so when this image was made. Building should be lit up better.

    New UTC Library - interior

Some architectural tests of the new library at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Radical use of perspective skew function in PS to correct lines from this vantage point.

    Beetham Tower.jpg

Beetham Tower is a 47-story building in Manchester, England. The structure is one of the thinnest skyscrapers in the world with a height to width ratio of 12:1 on the east-west façade. It was completed in 2006. In the foreground is part of a very old cast-iron bridge. This shot was taken from the Castlefield Metro station.

    High Noon in Dresden

Taken at noon in Dresden the biggest difficulty was the powerful sun and the extremely high contrast. I tried to find a composition that would lead the eye round the very large and complex palace to a point far on the far building.
