  1. Hi All - I just got a Fuji X30 and find the manual pretty poor, would like to accelerate my learning curve with a good book. The closest thing my searches have thrown up is Alexander S White's book on the X10 which has been discussed on these forums so I guess a lot of you are familiar with it. My question is whether the book is still largely useful for the X30 as I'm not familiar with the changes from x10 > x20 > x30, or whether anyone can recommend any other books. I have some small bit of photography experience but it's safe to assume a beginners level for any recommendations Thanks for any help.
  2. I just received my Fuji XT2. Love the XT1 which I am converting to infrared. But the manual which came with the XT2 is lame. I want info on what I can do in RAW. Can I use HDR with RAW? Pano with RAW? Searched the manual and cannot find the answer. Help!
  3. So after taking delivery of the Samyang 12mm on Sunday I went out to give it a try. So far I'm extremely impressed, it took a little getting used to manually focusing and finally setting the camera to 18mm. It it tac sharp, even wide open and just gets better as you stop down, f:8 or f:11 are it's sweet spots from my initial tests. Couple test pictures.
  4. Hi All. My XT-1 arrived this afternoon at the office. I have just unpacked it and note that an "XT-1 New features guide Version 4.00" is included. Does this version 4 refer to the latest version of the firmware? In such a case I can only admire Fuji for their professionalism. I am still charging the battery so can't check the installed firmware version myself yet. Actually I can't do anything at all because I don't have an SD card yet. Still, the firmware update process seems pretty straightforward. So far, from just reading the users manual I can tell it is going to be a steep learning curve. Now I am off to download the "Raw File Convertor EX2.0" and install the "MyFinePix Studio" (Ver 4.2b) which was supplied on CD ROM. Have a good weekend. John

    Zone Focusing

Hey all, So im looking for a wider lens than my 56 for general street work and kicking about. What i really miss is a lens that I can apply zone focusing to, as the 56 doesn't really give any indication of the complete zonal range as aperture changes. Has anyone got any information on what fuji primes offer the relevant zone range when manual focusing? Nothing wider than the 35mm though. Thanks all...
